Description : Elochoman Hatchery, located on the Elochoman River, 7 miles upstream from the river mouth. Elochoman, was authorized under the Mitchell Act and began operating in 1954 as part of the Columbia River Fisheries Development Program - a program to mitigate for fishery losses caused by human impact such as hydroelectric system development
