Description : Oxbow Hatchery, located approximately 2 miles east of Cascade Locks, Oregon. Oxbow Hatchery was originally constructed in 1913 to provide additional rearing facilities for Bonneville Hatchery. It was relocated to its present site in 1937 following construction of Bonneville Dam. Oxbow was operated as part of the Columbia River Fisheries Development Program (Mitchell Act). The goal of the hatchery is to produce coho and spring Chinook that will contribute to the Northeast Pacific and Columbia River commercial, tribal, and sports fisheries.
