Description : Clearwater Hatchery, located on the north bank of the North Fork of the Clearwater River at the confluence of the North Fork and mainstem of the Clearwater River in Clearwater County, Idaho, was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers under the Lower Snake River Compensation Plan and was completed in 1992. The facility is funded through the USFWS and operated by the Idaho Department of fish and Game. The primary purpose of the hatchery is to rear and release steelhead and Chinook salmon as mitigation for the lower Snake River dams.
