Description : Magic Valley Hatchery, located on the Snake River, approximately 7 miles northwest of the town of Filer in the Snake River Canyon, was constructed in 1987 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as part of the LSRCP. Each spring, about 2.5 million eggs, spawned and fertilized from adult steelhead trapped at three or four sites on the Clearwater and Salmon rivers, are delivered to this facility.
