Few population assessments have been conducted for the Priest Rapid white sturgeon subpopulation. The most recent survey occurred in 2002 at which time the population was estimated to consist of approximately 143 fish that were mostly older adults, possibly a fragment of a larger migratory or resident population present prior to impoundment. Monitoring data indicates that recruitment appears to be sporadic and quite limited.
